This group is for writers of all ages and experience levels to gather and discuss ideas. We meet every other Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Berkley Public Library.

In our meetings, writers have the opportunity to share their works-in-progress and receive supportive feedback and ideas from their peers. We also do fun writing exercises to spark creativity. This is a NO PRESSURE GROUP, meaning participants are welcome to just come and listen if they prefer.

Through constructive discussions in a relaxed atmosphere, the goal is to create a community of young writers helping one another develop their unique writerly voices. All ages and writing backgrounds are wholeheartedly welcome!

This group is completely free and no sign-up is required. Those wanting to check it out are welcome to join us at one or all of the sessions listed below. We hope to see you there!

As a young writer in an era before the internet, I often wished for a community of like-minded peers who loved words as much as I did. Although I had wonderful teachers and professors who guided me, their feedback focused more on grammar rules and story structure, which wasn't quite what I was looking for. I wanted to have conversations that sparked and encouraged creativity. I often thought, "If only a group like that had existed when I was younger." This thought has become the driving force behind the creation of this young adult writing group. I don't define myself as a teacher. My goal is to encourage young writers to write what feels authentic to them and to share their work with the world fearlessly.
